Abstract

Abstract

This research seeks to elucidate the concept of moderation, the terminological contention around it, and to delineate Nursi's function. The forerunner of moderate philosophy and methodology during his era, he influenced the jurisprudence of moderation through his works and writings in the Risale-i Nur. Nursi's challenging conditions in his endeavor to promote the moderate essence of Islam have established him as one of the most significant reformers in faith. The most knowledgeable, the most resolute in adversity, the most articulate in writing, the most luminous in style, and the most balanced in perspective. Nursi's primary objective was to illuminate the populace and direct them with faith-based verities in a reformist approach devoid of devastation or severity. This library research employs an inductive methodology to elucidate the manifestations of middle path jurisprudence in Nursi's philosophy, evident in four dimensions: a middle path in creed congruent with nature, a middle path in cognition and action, a middle path in methodology, and a middle path in renewal and ijtihad. The paper advocates for additional research in elucidating the jurisprudence of moderation derived from the life of Nursi.
